2.1.2.1.4.1.7.1. Rebecca Bland Worsham b 28 Mar 1831 Amelia, Dinwiddie Co, VA, and died 21 Feb 1885 Hampton, VA. (19-1850)  Rebecca is the daughter of Henry Cousins Worsham & Judith Maria Bland.  She md Benjamin Franklin Hudgins 15 Nov 1853 Dinwiddie Co., VA. Benjamin b 12 Nov 1831 Matthews Co, VA at "Clifton" property on Queen's Creek just off the Piankatank River and d. 25 Mar 1894 Hampton, VA. He was Elliott Washington Hudgins' cousin, they had the same grandfather, Houlder Hudgins b 1738 Liverpool, England, & d 1815 Mathews Co, VA at "Clifton" on the Pianketank River. His grandmother was Mary Gwyn. Capt. B. F. Hudgins attended Hampton Military Academy and graduated from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in 1852. He was a Confederate Captain in the Hampton Grays in the Civil War, a unit composed of Hampton residents and commanded by graduates of Col Cary’s Academy. After the war he became a planter and merchant. He was a lawyer in Hampton, VA and is named as executor of Dr. Worsham's will. Elliott Worsham Hudgins was Dr. Worsham's grandson and as his parents both died by the time he was 2; he lived with his grandfather and maiden aunt, Frances Bland Worsham. He was well provided for by Dr. Worsham and built the house at 422 W. Main, Capt Benj F Hudgins.jpg (77153 bytes) Blackstone, VA after Oldenplace burned. (422 W. Main burned in the 1960’s) He was bur. St. John's Churchyard, Hampton, VA. They had nine children, four of whom lived to maturity. Benjamin (in the picture, left) was Elliott Washington Hudgins' cousin, they had the same grandfather, Houlder Hudgins of Mathews Co, VA. Capt. B. F. Hudgins graduated from VMI in 1852 and served the Confederate Army of Virginia as Captain. He was a lawyer in Hampton, VA and is named as executor of Dr. Worsham's will.

2.1.2.1.4.1.7.1. 2. Benjamin Franklin Hudgins, Jr. b. 9 May 1861, md Lucie Lamar Holliday 1890 d/o LaMar Holliday.

2.1.2.1.4.1.7.1. 3. Kenneth Worsham Hudgins b. 29 Sep 1866 Dinwiddie Co, VA. He md Mary Holmes Love 16 Jan 1895.

2.1.2.1.4.1.7.1.4. Astley Cooper Hudgins b. 24 Mar 1872; d. 1 Mar 1965; md. Nannie Whiting Watkins, 7 Jan 1898; b. 12 Oct 1875 at "Old Point"; d. 28 Sep 1936 Hampton. He attended Virginia Military Institute Bet. 1888 - 1889 .(Kimberly McDaniel, 2000)

2.1.2.1.4.1.7.2. Lilia Ann Augusta Worsham b. abt 1833 Nottoway Co, VA md. Elliott Washington Hudgins b. 1807 Mathews Co, VA and d 1867 Dinwiddie Co, VA at "Oldenplace".(Kimberly McDaniel, 2000) Child:

Main, Blackstone, VA.JPG (49541 bytes) grandfather and maiden aunt, Frances Bland Worsham. He was well provided for by Dr. Worsham and built the house at 422 W. Main, Blackstone VA (right picture) after Oldenplace burned.

2.1.4.2. Daniel Worsham b 19 Nov 1720 Prince George Co., VA s/o William Worsham & Rosamond Webster & grandson of George Worsham & Mary Farrar. He md Elizabeth Branch, widow of John Worsham 14 Oct 1773 Amelia Co., VA. Daniel left a will dated 26 Nov 1800 & d 1803 Amelia Co., VA. Elizabeth left a will which was proved 19 Feb 1827 in Prince Edward Co., VA.

2.1.4.2.1.4. Abram Poindexter Maury. A short biography is in “The Twentieth Century Biographical Dictionary of Notable Americans”: Volume VII, M. Maury, Ann: MAURY, Abram Poindexter, representative, b in Williamson county, Tenn., Dec. 26, 1801; son of Abram (1766-1825) and Martha (Worsham) (1775-1844) Maury, who came from Lunenburg county, Va., to Williamson county, Tenn., late in the eighteenth century; grandson of Abraham (1731-1784) and Susannah (Poindexter) (1746-1801) Maury; great-grandson of Matthew and Mary Ann (Fontaine) Maury, Huguenot refugees, married in England, 1716, and settled in Virginia, 1719. Abram Poindexter Maury received a superior education, and when sixteen years of age was taken to St. Louis, Mo., by Col. Thomas H. Benton, to edit a newspaper. He resigned the editorship the next year to enter the U.S. Military academy, but left the academy in 1819 to study law and edit a newspaper in Nashville, Tenn. He was married, Jan. 12, 1825, to Mary Eliza Tennessee Claiborne, a niece of W. C. C. Claiborne, first governor of Louisiana. Mr. Maury purchased the homestead in Williamson county, on the death of his father in 1825, and he represented the county in both branches of the Tennessee legislature and in the 24th and 25th congresses, 1835-39. After 1839, he devoted himself to the practice of law, to literary pursuits, and to lecturing. He died in Franklin, Tenn., July 16, 1848.

Finney age 47 b VA farmer, Martha Finney age 44 b VA, Martha L? Finney age 22 b VA, W P Finney age 25 b VA lawyer, Lucretia Finney age 15 b VA, Mary W Finney age 12 b TN, Pryor? P Finney age 4 b TN. Martha is in the 1870 Pine Bluff, Jefferson Co, AR cens, as Martha Finny age 60 b VA living with John Riley age 36 b AR merchant, wife Mary age 20 b VA, P L Smith age 2 b TN female, Wm. C. Finny age 19 b TN clerk, W? Pago age 21 b TN and Patty Worsham age 14 b AR. Patty Worsham is her brother, Daniel's daughter.

Oct 17, 1800, departed this life at Mill Grove (Amelia) on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 March 18, 1866; Mary Elizabeth Worsham b. Mar 7, 1807; Jarratt Allen Jeter and Mary Elizabeth Jeter were md. Oct 9, 1823; Mary Jane Jeter d/o Jarret & Mary b. 24 Nov 1824; Daniel Jeter s/o Jarret & Mary b. 5 Jan 1831; Hannah Finney Jeter d/o Jarret & Mary." 2.1.4.2.2.3. Hannah Finney Worsham b. 7 May 1809 Amelia Co., VA. md Henry Latane Montague. In the Abstracts from John K. Martin Papers, War of 1812, William L. Montague, Letter from Baltimore, MD dtd 22 Mar 1853 from H.B. Montague referring to his sis in law as Mrs. Hannah Montague now in Petersburg. William L. Montague & Hannah F. Worsham were married. in Amelia Co 15 Mar 1825. He died in Abbeville Dist, SC 22 Mar 1835. Hannah was in her 44th year in 1853. (Virginia Genealogical Society Quarterly Vol XVI, Num 4, 1-Oct-1978)

2.1.4.2.2.4. Daniel Worsham. He is in the 1880 Monticello, Drew, AR cens. as Daniel Worsham age 69 b VA, a widow, teaching school and suffering from bronchitis. According to the DAR records of Martha Alexium Prescott & Hettie Ann Knapp Dyer, Daniel Worsham died in 1894.

She is in the 1860 Amelia, VA cens. as Lucy H Bottom age 45 b VA with children, Margaret Bottom age 23 bVA, F J Bottom age 22 bVA. In 1880 Richmond, Henrico, VA cens. Lucy H. Bottom age 68 b VA is living with her daughter Mary J. Tucker age 42 bVA widow. 2.1.4.2.2.7. Jane Watkins Worsham md William Henry Maury. In the 1850 Fayette Co, TN cens, are William H. Maury age 39 b TN physician, Jane W Maury age 35 b VA, Abraham Maury age 18 b TN, Lucy J. Maury age 15 b TN, Mary J. Maury age 9 b TN, James Maury age 7 b TN, Martha E Maury age 5 b TN, Carie B Maury age 2 b TN. Morton Rose, 2002 has there children as Abraham Maury, Lucy Jane Maury, Mary Daniel Maury, James Montgomery Maury, Martha Elizabeth Maury, Carrie Booth Maury.

2.1.2.4.2.2.8  Rebecca William Worsham. Married In Amelia Co. on March 4th, 1845 by Rev. Benjamin M. Hobson, Mr. Alfred G. A. Coleman to Miss Rebecca W. Worsham all of said County (Daily Richmond Enquirer pg 2, col. 6. Date of Publication 28 Mar 1845)
